5 top tips for digital marketing this Christmas
Now that we are fast approaching November, it seemed an ok(ish) time to start talking about Christmas. And yes, we are just as confused as you are about how we are in the final 2 months of 2022... talk about a speedy year!
Although for many industries Christmas planning actually started months ago, there are still plenty of things you can do to maximise sales and awareness of your brand.
Schedule content ahead of time
This is key. You want to ensure that everything is organised and ready to go to save any last minute panic and stress on Christmas Day.
Offer ideas and inspiration
Generally when shopping, people are looking for something that adds value or makes life easier. When marketing your product, think about what the individual will gain from having it as opposed to what it actually is.
Look back at previous Christmas campaigns
Use previous years’ data to see what went well and what didn’t and build on this. Of course it is important to consider all the changes that can happen in a year too, but it is a great place to start!
Nail the imagery
Ensure that the photographs or graphics you are sharing really show your product in the best light. Quality and consistency of the imagery is paramount given that social media is such a visual tool.
Get festive and have fun!
Most importantly, have a bit of fun with the festive season. Just be mindful not to go too OTT and always keep your target audience in mind.
Although Christmas is an exciting time and a huge opportunity for retailers, it is also important to be mindful of the current climate and appreciate that not everybody enjoys the festive time. Research by LinkedIn News UK suggests that the best ads will not ignore the cost of living crisis and will focus more on goodwill and small gestures.
Sunny wishes,
